No, and sorting it finer won’t fix the problem anyway. Sorting tells you the family — plates with plates, so you head for the plate drawers. It stops being enough when one rule fills six of them and the only record of which 1×2s went where is your memory. So sort as broadly as you like, then let Partfolio hold the record: it maps the boxes and drawers you already have, and searching a part tells you which one to open.
No. You can import an entire official set into a box in one step with Plus. Most people start with the parts they actually search for, not the whole collection at once.
Less than five minutes to create your first collection and a box. After that you add parts as you go. You don’t need a complete inventory for the app to be useful — you need the parts you keep looking for.
Yes. The catalog of over 63,000 parts lives inside the app. The app works fully offline — no connection required for inventory, search, or labels.
Not yet. Camera recognition of parts is in development and will come in a later update. What the camera does today is read the QR codes on your storage labels — that’s a different thing, and it works well. Partfolio today is about knowing what you own and where it is. I’d rather ship that properly than ship part recognition badly.
No, and this matters more than it sounds. Any ordinary printer and a sheet of A4 or US Letter sticker paper will do — Partfolio lays the labels out for you and tells you how many fit on a page. If you own a Brother or DYMO roll printer it supports those too, including a 40 x 15 mm strip that fits a drawer front (or 40 x 10 mm for 12 mm continuous rolls) — the strip still identifies the box, not the drawer. What you can’t skip is the printing itself: the camera reads QR codes, so a code written by hand isn’t something you can point the phone at. If a sticker gets torn or sits on a shelf you can’t reach, you can type its seven-character code in by hand instead — but that’s a fallback, not a way around the printer.
No. Labels you print in advance carry only the code, plus an optional blank space to write a name by hand — so they stay true no matter how often you rearrange things. The code is the permanent identity of the sticker; what it points to lives in the app and can be changed as many times as you like. If you do choose to print a label with the box name on it, Partfolio remembers the name it printed and quietly suggests a reprint if you ever rename that box.

No. Scanning is free on every plan, forever. You put those stickers on your own furniture on the strength of a promise, and taking them hostage later would be indefensible. What Plus covers is generating and printing labels in bulk — growing the system — not reading the ones you already have.
Nothing is deleted and nothing is hidden. You keep seeing and searching your entire inventory, however big it got during the trial, and you can always take parts out of any box and adjust quantities on parts you already track so your counts stay honest. What stops is adding new part-and-color rows once you reach 100 on the free plan. A complete JSON archive of your entire inventory is free forever.
